7 Prayers That Work

  Here's a prayer taken from the blog " Do you love Jesus? " Lord God, Please forgive me for not loving you back. You love without condition , without rules, without disappointment. I love conditionally, experimentally, sporadically. Forgive me and help me lean into your goodness , your holiness, your grace. You are light, love, righteousness, grace, and power. I worship and adore you in my frail human way. Grow the adoration in me. Show me your glory. Today, I'll love you for who you are and I'll serve you because I love you, not because I'm checking boxes for being a good Christian. Lord God Almighty, You give us power to bind evil spirits and speak your powerful name in the heavenly realms. You indwell us and infuse us with your miraculous power. I pray for that power today. I ask for your holy angels to wage war over me and my family this day. Fight over my church , over our mission and our future. I bind the spiritual enemies of darkness is Jesus' name [be specific]: confusion, disunity, fear, hate, death, trauma, depression, addiction, abuse, jealousy, insecurity, competition, contention-- I break these off in Jesus' name and cast them back to hell. They have no hold over me or my family. They cannot squelch the Spirit of God  or the power of God's holy work in me and in the world. Break open the heavens and accomplish your will in me. Lord God, Heal us, physically , spiritually , emotionally. Heal our families , our churches, our schools , our halls of justice, our country . Heal our wounds , our betrayals, our guilt, our embarrassments , our disappointments. Heal our past, present, and future. You, only, are our hope and our Healer.
